Our HistoryThe firm was founded in 1976 by the late MA Reid. In 1978, he was joined in practice by Fiona Mackenzie who remains a principal today. The firm name changed to Reid & Mackenzie when Fiona joined the partnership, and changed again to FA Mackenzie when Mr Reid relocated overseas. In 1994 Fiona was joined in the practice by her husband Graeme Elvin, who had previously been a partner with Cooney Lees & Morgan. The firm became Mackenzie Elvin. Later that year, Marcus Wilkins joined the practice, having previously been an associate at Sharp Tudhope, becoming a partner in 1997. PhilosophyAs a firm, we are becoming increasingly selective about the type and the amount of work that we will engage. We have an emphasis and preference for working closely with our clients seeking to proactively advise with respect to their business and personal needs in a planned, integrated way. We endeavour to provide not only the strict legal product on a transactional basis, but also by making a contribution to the success of our clients by having a wide understanding of their needs. This is reflected in our mission statement: “More than a law firm: Trusted advisors constantly seeking the right solution for you.” |
